St. Andrew’s Memorial Presbyterian Church in Port Credit, Ontario is seeking a permanent part-time Minister of Music to facilitate the music program of our ministry (10 hours per week).

This individual collaborates with the Minister on music selections to align with the worship service, develops, recruits, and leads Choir members, organizes, and presents weekly music during worship services, and collaborates on special musical services from time to time.

The ideal candidate is an excellent musician with multiple skills including knowledge of traditional and contemporary music, is able to play proficiently both our Chickering Grand Piano and our beautifully restored Casavant Organ and can inspire both choir and congregational participation in the music program.  He/she has demonstrated success in leading and teaching choral music in a similar setting.

Keys to success in this role include flexibility, creativity, leadership and team-building skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with the Minister, the choir and other key members of church leadership.

The role supports one (1) weekly church service, plus special services on religious holidays, and one choir rehearsal each week other than on Sunday. Please note that, although there is currently not a choir at our church, music can be offered by soloists and instrumentalists as a choir is gradually formed. Although ideally this part-time role would be performed by one individual, we are willing to entertain a job-sharing arrangement whereby two individuals share the role on a basis acceptable to St. Andrew’s and to the candidates.

The salary is commensurate with the skills and experience of the candidate, but generally, it is in the range of $18,000 to $24,000 per annum.
